Pondering Ecclesiastes

We are born into this world,
to grow and live and die.

We plant a garden of seeds to raise up,
and once the harvest is ready we pick it.
We kill a relationship with one another, or animals for food
while trying to heal the relationship we survive off the kill.

Our words can easily breakdown a soul
or in turn build up an esteem.
Sometimes through life we weep,
while other moments we share a laugh.
At times we lose loved ones and mourn, but
find the opportunity to celebrate them in dance.

As we grow older we cast away stones,
with wisdom we gather stones of knowledge.
We embrace the lessons learned and
refrain from embracing past mistakes.

Sometimes we gain material things,
it is not long before we lose them.
Knowledge and wisdom is something we keep,
we throw away things of the past, heartache and pain.

We go through a time to tear down walls and
sow the things that have been ripped apart.
We learn to know when silence is golden
there’s also a time when we stand up and speak.

Life will bring us many to love,
it will also show us moments of hate.
Our world is not perfect, there will be war,
only Jesus can bring us a peace in our hearts.
