Who Will You Elect?

Rising Cost of Gas Ballard
 (sing to Beverly Hillbillies Ballard)

Hark and hear my story ‘bout the bad economy,
President Obama says, “I have a remedy.”
I got it all covered and don’t you fret it,
Vote me back in office; to you I’ll be indebted.

Emperor, Mogul, Governor

We’re out one day filling up the tank,
Uprising prices are draining the bank.
Next think you know our credit card is spent;
Need to sell the luxury ride, even with the dent.

426, Big Block, Super Bee

Put it in the paper, sold our pleasure ride,
Buyer got a deal, we said good bye to pride.
What can you do but take it all in stride?
Y’all come out and vote now,
And be sure not to hide.

It’s the cost of gas increasing now,
Ethanol is what they call it
Corn, Petroleum

Y’all come vote now, ya he’ar?

Myrtle the Turtle

There is a turtle

Her name is Myrtle

She makes the dogs bark

Long after it gets dark

I’m thinking about soup

But it might taste like poop

I moved Myrtle once today

But she came back to play

Don’t know why she’s hanging ‘round

In the big doggy playground

I’m gonna get a great big pot

And heat the water up wicked hot

I’ll pretend that it’s a lobster

I can kill just like a mobster

TCO will ask, “What’s to eat?”

I’ll respond, “A special treat.”

Potatoes, carrots and Guinness Brew

Homemade dumplings with turtle stew.

YUM YUM!

Washed Clean

Wash me clean
So I can glean
The life I knew
Is all but through
I’ve been saved
Though misbehaved
My sin’s forgiven
So now I’m living
My life in Christ
Without a heist
Saved by grace
Unveil my face
Lived in the dark
And fed the shark
It’s all gone now
I’ll tell you how
Ask Jesus in
And He’ll begin
To change your heart
Right from the start
It’s all a new
I don’t imbue
God is my Savior
The One I favor
He’s my redeemer
Please don’t blasphemer
I still fight with sin
Though I’m forgiven
My ride to the sky
I’ll kiss you good bye
I’ll meet you there
Don’t have to care
About the ways
Of all these days
The world went mad
It’s all we had
Live for the moment
Fight the opponent
Leave it all behind
In heaven we’ll find
No more tears
No more fears
It will be
You will see
Now be enticed
God’s Paradise

Ode to The Blind Dog

At the kennel we shopped for a kitten;
Travelling across the damn, through the fog,
A canine in our lives was not fitting;
We came home that day with a little dog.

Runt of the litter and born without eyes,
A sightless dog won’t produce any coins.
Saved him from the cruel coldblooded demise;
We felt sorry for him down in our loins.

Brought puppy home to our humble abode
He ran into this and ran into that,
The journey had started down a long road;
What he could use was a doggy hard hat.

Makes no difference that this dog is blind
Finding his way with his keen sense of smell
Toss a ball up in the air; it he’ll find,
When matters aren’t right, he’s the first to tell
Handicap doggy makes us more aware
Of how much we love our Little Big Bear.
