She and Me

WE

We are two but we’re one in the same
Walk and talk alike, even our name
Where I go she is sure to follow
Wondering what for when I wallow
Wallflower in the background is she,
Wanderlust wholeheartedly for me
Well my shadow and me equals ‘we’.

I Am A Yellow Dot

When I look in the mirror,
the person that I see
is someone I used to know,
staring back at me.

For each blemish,
mole, and every strand of gray hair,
has earned it’s own special place,
on my head in there.

I wonder if those wrinkles
on the face of me,
are what one considers,
as aging gracefully?

Stories I could share
would make a heart skip a beat.
But I always made it through,
landing on my feet.

Some will blame their parents,
for things they might have done,
For my faults I lay no blame,
I’m the only one.

Things that I’ve been through,
I admit I’m not too proud
Events caused much innocence
in my mind it did becloud.

I always give credit
where the credit is due
for those who helped influence
my life as I grew.

But all of the mistakes
are mine alone to own,
not in my parents face
will they ever be thrown.

Too many people now
are living in the lies
hiding behind the veil
or some other disguise.

Lives are not certain,
tomorrow not guaranteed,
we take the path we learn
whether or not agreed.

I’m still learning some hard lessons
as I'm growing old
much of that instruction
I don’t like to be told.

As I reflect on
the tests that I’ve been through
you may disagree,
but in my mind it’s all true,

Life is not easy
and we won’t get all we crave.
I won’t give into my wants
or let them me enslave.

No trials, tribulations,
nothing in defect,
there’d be nothing to live for
if we were all perfect.

I give all the glory
to the One and the Only.
Jesus Christ, my Savior
Who died on  the Cross, for me.

Harvey Town

There is a place
known as Harvey Town,
where shit looks bad
and places are run down.

It’s an experience
more than a place,
I’ll try to explain it
and not lose my pace.

It’s a logging road
all covered with mud,
a cow standing knee deep
chewing her cud.

It’s siding on the house
that’s tar paper black
once you go there
you won’t want to go back.

Most of the residence
live off welfare,
kids don’t have nice clothes
or shoes to wear.
But, bet your ass,
those folks got gas
to get in their cars
and drive for hash.
They’ve got their smokes
and Allen’s Coffee brandy
and they look for hand-outs
from people who are handy.

A big old dog
tied to the oil tank,
with shit everywhere
makes the place smell rank.

Thirteen gallons delivered
of the fuel
just what the state pays
that’s the rule.

The woman’s home alone
with three young ones,
different daddy for all
and he’s busy
making new buns

Harvey Town
is Jerk-Water U.S.A,
you’ll find one near you
if you look today.

It’s those who think
the world owes them something,
while they don’t want to work,
they’d rather do nothing.

Blue Hearts

Blue Hearts

Roses are red, violets are purple
Though I thought I knew lve
My heart was blue before I met You.

Lve at first sight ~ after the first kiss,
If you lve me, you’ll do this.

Lve is not pressure,
lve doesn’t make you do
what you don’t want to do
and tell you you’re worthless for not doing it.

Lve doesn’t boast,
lve doesn’t make itself
into something it’s not
and say things that aren’t true.

Lve is not jealous,
lve doesn’t get angry
and is not over-sensitive,
but instead concerns itself with
others feelings before its own.

Lve never gives up,
lve endures all things
and accepts hardship or rejection
and never loses faith in the possibilities
of what people might become.

True lve puts up with people
who would be easier to give up on.
